Beavers entertain Concordia University and St. Cloud State
The Bemidji State University men's basketball (4-9; 2-4 NSIC) will entertain Concordia University, St. Paul (6-6; 4-1 NSIC) and league newcomer No. 24 St. Cloud State (10-2; 5-0 NSIC) from the BSU Gymnasium. Friday night the Golden Bears come to town while St. Cloud State will visit the BSU Gymnasium on Saturday to wrap up the weekend. Both game are set to start at 8 p.m.

Rookie earns DPOW record third-straight time
BSU rookie goaltender Zuzana Tomcikova (Bratislava, Slovakia) has made history by being named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s Defensive Player of the Week for the third-straight time, an honor that the league announced today. She is just the second player in WCHA history to earn a player of the week honor three times in a row, and she is the first BSU player ever to earn three player of the week awards in the same season.

Beavers hold on in triple overtime over Dickinson State, 99-97
The Bemidji State University men's basketball team came back from a seven point halftime deficit to upend the Dickinson State Blue Hawks, 99-97 in triple overtime snapping a three game losing skid. Jake Lindstrom (Fr., G, Cottage Grove, Minn.) led the Beavers with his second 20 point game of the season as he poured in 22 points, 18 of which came in the second half and in the three overtime periords.

The Bemidji State University women's basketball team (2-11; 0-6 NSIC) return home this weekend after over a month on the road to host the Concordia University, St. Paul Golden Bears (11-4; 3-2 NSIC) and the St. Cloud University Huskies (11-1; 4-1 NSIC) at the BSU Gymnasium. The Beavers will entertain Concordia University on Friday, Jan. 9 followed by a match up with St. Cloud State University on Saturday, Jan. 10. Both games are scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip off.

Today, in an announcement by Don Hansen's Football Gazette, Phelps was named as a member of the publication's All-Super Region Three Second Team.

Beavers open new year with North Dakota
The Bemidji State men’s ice hockey team returns to the John Glas Fieldhouse to host nationally-ranked University of North Dakota for the front half of a non-conference, home-and-home series. The match-up pits the 8-8-0 Beavers versus the 9-10-1 Fighting Sioux who each look to right the ship after losses last weekend. Friday's match up is set for 7:35 p.m. at the "The Glas," while the team will take to the ice at Ralph Engelstad Arena Saturday at 7:35 p.m. to wrap up the series.

Rejuvenated Beavers set for trip to Pennsylvania
Bemidji State is back from its three-week holiday hiatus and is ready to take on Robert Morris University at RMU Island Sports Center. The Beavers will travel to Moon Township, Pa., for the second-ever meeting between the two schools. The teams split a series in Bemidji last season, and BSU will be looking to end its school-record 14-game losing streak this weekend. The games will be played Jan. 2-3 and will begin at 6:35 p.m. and 1:05 p.m. CST.

After assembling a string of six consecutive victories, the Bemidji State University men’s ice hockey team saw its streak come to an end tonight in the championship game of the Ledyard National Bank Classic. Hosting Dartmouth University scored first, piled on a pair of second period goals and held off a third-period barrage by the Beavers to claim the title, 4-2.

Four different Beavers netted markers and sophomore goaltender Matt Dalton (Clinton, Ontario) recorded 24 saves as BSU defeated the University of Massachusetts 4-2 Sunday evening in the opening round of the Ledyard Bank Classic in Hanover, N.H. Bemidji State extended its current win streak to six games and will play host Dartmouth College in the championship game Monday at 6 p.m CST.

The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team kept the game close early but a 15-0 run to close out the first half by the University of Nebraska, Omaha put the Beavers in a hole they couldn’t get out of. The Mavericks went on to take a 109-76 nonconference victory over BSU in Omaha, Neb.
